Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are serious, sometimes painful diseases that can cause severe damage to your body if not treated. Some STDs infect only your sexual and/or reproductive organs; whereas, others can cause damage throughout the entire body. When left untreated, STD’s can cause life-threatening consequences.

Contact a healthcare provider if you or your partner has been diagnosed with an STD or experiencing symptoms of an STD, such as unusual sores, abnormal discharge, burning when urinating, or bleeding between periods.

The good news is STDs can be treated. The best gift you and your partner can give one another is to get tested. Selfcare is health care!
