OD2A is currently funded through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Overdose Data to Action cooperative agreement. The program launched in September 2019 and funds 66 jurisdictions across the country, including state, county, city, and territorial health departments.
Long Term Goals

- Decrease rate of emergency department visits due to opioid misuse or OUD.
- Decrease drug overdose death rate, including prescription, and illicit opioid overdose death rates.
Overdose prevention activities such as the distribution of Narcan at all DOH-Escambia locations and the development of Community Paramedicine programing with CORE will help to make the difference, one resident at a time.
