DOH-Escambia Issues Blue Green Algae Health Alert for Admiral Mason Park Pond
Pensacola, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health in Escambia County (DOH-Escambia) has issued a health alert for the presence of harmful blue-green algae toxins in Admiral Mason Park Pond (located near Veteran’s Memorial Park). The alert is in response to a water sample taken on August 13, 2025. The public should exercise caution in and around Admiral Mason Park.

DOH-Escambia Issues Reminder: Mosquito-Borne Illness Alert Still in Effect
Pensacola, Fla.—The Florida Department of Health in Escambia County (DOH-Escambia) is reminding residents that the Mosquito-Borne Illness Alert is still in effect following the confirmation of a fourth case of of locally-acquired West Nile Virus. DOH-Escambia and Escambia County Mosquito Control are coordinating surveillance and prevention efforts by utilizing targeted mitigation activities including aerial spraying, field inspections, and biological, chemical, and physical control measures.
