A community’s health is more than just the individual behaviors that you or your neighbors, families, friends do (smoking, eating, working out, etc.); it is also the neighborhood you grow up in, the school(s) you attend, the job you have, your access to care, and the quality of air and water.

The Florida Department of Health takes in to account these factors when developing the Community Health Needs Assessment and Community Health Improvement Plan. We work with community organizations, nonprofits, businesses, hospitals, and local government officials to strategically target and affect priority areas within the community.
