Tattoo Program

Contact Us

The State of Florida Tattoo Program has been in effect since 2012. The program requires the licensure of tattoo artists and tattTattoo Salonoo establishments, and also sets forth educational requirements and the standards of practice for conventional and cosmetic tattoo artists, as well as operational requirements for tattoo establishments. It is also designed to protect the public from the risks associated with potentially infectious biomedical waste.

The governing authority for this program is Florida Statute 381.00771-381.00791 and Florida Administrative Code 64E-28.

Escambia County is the regional inspection authority for the following counties within this program: Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Walton.

Annual Licenses and Permits are required to be purchased by tattoo artists, guest tattoo artists, and the tattoo establishment itself.
