The Tobacco Free Florida AHEC Cessation program offers FREE groups in the community to help people quit tobacco for good. The cessation programs are led by trained specialists who guide participants through the quitting process. They help identify triggers and withdrawal symptoms and brainstorm ways to cope with them. Quit Smoking Now support groups meet once a week for 4 weeks and cover a variety of topics including coping with withdrawal symptoms, managing addiction and preventing relapse. Cessation groups cover all forms of tobacco. The supports groups meets every Thursday from 4-5 pm at the Florida Department of Health in Escambia County. Registration is required to attend.
