HEALTH ADVISORY UPDATES Bayous Chico, Grande and Texar
November 01, 2017
Pensacola, Fla. – Effective immediately, in response to bacteriological sampling, the Florida Department of Health in Escambia County (FDOH-Escambia) is issuing a health advisory for the following location in Escambia County, Florida:
- Bayou Chico at Lakewood Park
The sampling occurred during water quality monitoring activities, and the level of bacteria has exceeded the level established by state guidelines. FDOH-Escambia advises against any water related activities at the above location due to the potential for high bacteria levels.
FDOH-Escambia is rescinding health advisories for the following locations due to an adequate reduction in bacteria levels:
- Bayou Grande – Navy Point, North of Sunset Avenue Bridge
- Bayou Texar at Bayview Park
We will continue to monitor the water quality in the area and advise the public of our results. For more information, contact FDOH-Escambia’s Environmental Health office at 850-595-6700 or visit www.EscambiaHealth.com.
