DOH-Escambia Hosts Drive-Through Rabies Vaccination Clinic
October 28, 2025
Pensacola, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health in Escambia County (DOH-Escambia) has partnered with Animal Welfare and the Humane Society of Escambia County to host a drive-through rabies vaccine clinic for dogs and cats on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the following location:
3363 West Park Place
Pensacola, FL 32505
Local veterinarians will administer free rabies vaccines for dogs and cats while supplies last. A photo ID is required to receive the service. Each pet will be provided a certificate of vaccination. The first 100 visitors may also choose to receive a free micro-chip. All pets must be secured in a vehicle, crate, or on a leash.
Rabies is fatal but preventable. The best way to prevent pets from rabies is by making sure they are up to date on their rabies shot.
DOH-Escambia recommends the following rabies prevention tips to protect yourself, family members, and pets:
- Immunize your pets and livestock based on your veterinarian’s recommended schedule.
- Keep pets under direct supervision and on a leash, and keep livestock secured on your property. If an animal bites your pet or livestock, seek veterinary assistance for the animal immediately and contact Escambia County Animal Control at 850-471-6300. Avoid contact with wild or stray animals. Do not handle, feed, or unintentionally attract them with outdoor pet food, open garbage cans, or other sources of food. If you have been bitten or scratched by a wild or domestic animal, seek medical attention, and report the injury to Escambia County Animal Control at 850-471-6300 or DOH-Escambia at 850-595-6500.
- Never adopt wild animals or bring them into your home; instead contact a licensed wildlife rehabilitator.
- Call your local animal control agency to remove any stray animals from your neighborhood. Contact Escambia County Animal Control at 850-471-6300.
- Prevent wildlife, including bats, from entering living quarters or occupied spaces in homes, schools, and other similar areas where they might come in contact with people and pets.
