Pensacola, Fla. – Effective immediately, in response to bacteriological sampling, the Florida Department of Health in Escambia County is continuing a health advisory for the following locations in Escambia County, Florida:

• Perdido Bay South of the Bayou Marcus Creek
• Bayou Chico at Lakewood Park

The bacteriological sampling occurred during water quality monitoring activities, and the level of bacteria has exceeded the level established by state guidelines. The department advises against any water-related activities at the above locations due to the potential for high bacteria levels. We will continue to collaborate with ECUA to monitor the Perdido Bay South of the Bayou Marcus Creek area until the advisory is rescinded.

Due to an adequate reduction in bacteria levels, the health advisory has been rescinded for the following locations:

• Bayou Texar at Bayview Park
• Bayou Grande at Navy Point, North of Sunset Bridge
• Sanders Beach
