WISEWOMAN is a CDC-sponsored program that operates as the FL Health Woman program in Escambia County.  It is administered through the Florida Department of Health of Escambia County.

The WISEWOMAN program is aimed at helping women understand and reduce their risks for cardiovascular disease and stroke.

Heart disease claims the lives of more women than cancer, chronic respiratory diseases, Alzheimer’s disease, accidents and diabetes combined.  The Florida Department of Health in Escambia County’s WISEWOMAN program (operated as FL Healthy Woman) provides low-income, underinsured or uninsured women with risk factor screening, education and evidence-based lifestyle programs to discover and reduce their risks.
