WIC Provides:
- Free Breastfeeding Classes offered twice per month and open to the community. Spanish language classes four times per year. Please call for the latest schedule.
- Breastfeeding Support information and help with breastfeeding complications. Trained breastfeeding counselors and two International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs) on staff. Walk in service for WIC clients. All others please call for an appointment.
- Breastfeeding Peer Counselors who are available in the evening and on weekends for WIC clients who have breastfeeding questions.
- Two kinds of Breast Pumps: 1) manual pumps for all WIC breastfeeding mothers and 2) a loaner electric double pump for WIC mothers with an infant in the NICU or for mothers returning to work or school full-time. Call for more information.
Remember Florida Law states that: “A mother may breastfeed her baby in any location, public or private, where the mother is otherwise authorized to be.” Nursing is Normal. We celebrate and support mothers who want the best for their babies!
