By FDOH Escambia

August 30, 2016

Pensacola, Fla. – Effective immediately, in response to bacteriological sampling, the Florida Department of Health in Escambia County (FDOH-Escambia) is issuing health advisories for the following beaches in Escambia County, Florida:

Bayou Texar at Bayview Park

Bayou Chico at Lakewood Park

Due to the potential for high bacteria levels, FDOH-Escambia advises against any water-related activities at the above locations. The bacteriological sampling occurred during water quality monitoring activities, and the level of bacteria has exceeded the level established by state guidelines.

FDOH-Escambia is rescinding the health advisory for the following beach in Escambia County, Florida:

Bayou Grande at Navy Point - North of Sunset Avenue Bridge

We will continue to monitor the water quality in the area and advise the public of our results. For more information, contact the FDOH-Escambia’s Environmental Health office at 850-595-6700 or visit www.EscambiaHealth.com.
