Health Advisory Rescinded for Bayou Texar at Bayview Park and Bayou Chico at Lakewood Park
PENSACOLA, FL – Effective immediately, in response to bacteriological sampling, the Florida Department of Health in Escambia County (FDOH-Escambia) is rescinding the health advisory for the following beaches in Escambia County, Florida:
Bayou Texar at Bayview Park
Bayou Chico at Lakewood Park
Follow-up sampling of the affected areas indicates an adequate reduction in bacteria levels.
A health advisory remains in effect for the following beach:
Bayou Grande, Navy Point - North of Sunset Avenue Bridge
FDOH-Escambia advises against any water-related activities at the above location due to the potential for high bacteria levels. The bacteriological sampling occurred during water quality monitoring activities and the level of bacteria has exceeded the level established by state guidelines.
